Piscival is a private French company specialised in the culture and trading of freshwater fish species, producing mainly roach, tench, carp, pike, perch and pikeperch. The company, comprising one manager and 2 technicians, is currently exploiting more than 300 ha of fish ponds, within a radius of 150 km from the central office. Recently, the company is developing more intensively all activities related to sport fishing. In this respect, pikeperch has been identified as a highly valuable species for both restocking of natural waters and sport fishing in ponds. The objective of the company is to increase the part of pikeperch production in their annual turnover. Piscival was a partner of the FP5-QoL-Lucioperca project. The stocking of ponds with weaned juveniles firstly cultivated in recirculating system has proven to be very efficient, and Piscival is willing to get more expertise on the optimal stocking procedure for one-year old production of pikeperch in pond.
